Kalamazoo American Food @ Aman Suria

Fancy American food? I went to Kalamazoo, no, not to the city in the southwest region of Michigan state in the U.S., but a newly opened restaurant located in Aman Suria, PJ. Once seated and looked at the menu, I asked for the all time favorite recommendation. I was recommended the Meat Loaf, so fine with it. After waited for roughly 20 minutes, my order came as below. After my first bit, I nodded my head as a sign of approved !

La Risata Italian Pizza

When I was a child, I thought Pizza Hut serves the best pizza. Maybe that's because it was the only pizza restaurant available in Alor Star back then. Don't get me wrong, I still go to Pizza Hut sometimes for their chicken wings :-)  I believe most people will agree that thin crust is the best, crispy at the edges, light, has cheesy toppings and most importantly, wood-fired. We all went to La Risata italian restaurant to tried out their pizza. The dining area boasted raw brick walls which gave it a casual yet cosy ambience especially on a rainy night.

Malay Fine Dining Experience @ Songket

Sometimes when my tourist friends came to Malaysia, I normally recommended few commercialized places such as Jalan Alor, Batu Caves, etc. Now, I can proudly introduce them to Songket, a place for fine dining Malay cuisine. Songket is a Malay term referring to a type of fabric made from hand-woven silk or cotton, intricately embroidered with gold or silver threads. These metallic threads create a contrast from the delicate background, resulting in a luxurious piece of fabric. Therefore, it goes without saying that in the olden days, Songket was only worn by the Malay royalties during special occasions. Given the rich tradition associated with this piece of exquisite fabric, Songket Restaurant aims to present outstanding authentic Malay cuisine with a modern twist, in the hopes of achieving the effect that songket fabric has on people – intricate and stylish.
