Taragon Restaurant Serves Nyonya Food

Everyone knows Melaka is popular of the Nyonya food, also referred to as the Straits Chinese food, is an amalgamation of Chinese and Malay cuisine believed to have originated from the Peranakan (Straits Chinese) of Melaka over 400 years ago. This was the result of inter-marriages between Chinese immigrants and local Malays, which produced a unique culture. Here, the ladies are called nyonya and the men babas. Taragon Restaurant and Bistro is a relatively new restaurant located smack in the Melaka city riverside, serving authentic Nyonya and Western food while providing a magnificent view of the Melaka River. Food Foundry The Best Crepes Cake in Town

Back to 2 years ago, that was my first time stepped into this secluded restaurant, after recommended by my friend, Jit Shen. We were not having dinner, but went all the way there for a piece of cake, each. After tasting it the first time back then, I realized why he brought me there :-)

A Visit to Queen Victoria Market

I had been to QVM for 2 times and more pics in my dslr actually, but these pics are from my iPhone. We had our bfast at the food court at QVM. As I was hunger for Asian food, so I opted for tomyum and dumplings soup while my friend had a heavy American bfast.

Above: Tom Yum noodle and Dumplings.

The Tom Yum was tasteless and not spicy at all, as I tweeted earlier. Nothing spectular abt it, however the dumplings were pretty good.

I finally found the jacket that I wanted, for $70 australian dollar. A very good quality water proof jacket, walked away as happy customer :-)

Above: Street performer singing Mexican song. A very nice song which just lifts up the street environment.

More to come on Australia trip post. QVM is definitely a must to visit destination!
