Christmas Menu 2010 by Tony Roma’s

Before reading on, let me warned you that this is a meat mania post ! If you’re vegetarian, kindly exit by clicking the X button at the upper right corner.

Christmas is near !! HO HO HO…. but shame to say that I normally failed to plan a nice Christmas dinner with wifey, due to too expensive customized menu for Christmas and a lot of restaurant just don’t serve their normal menu. However, Tony Roma’s Christmas menu for this year 2010 is pretty affordable with huge portion to ensure you’ll be full.

Cantonese Affair at Zing, Grand Millennium Hotel

Ever thought of how Cantonese fine dining going to be? When I entered into Zing Chinese restaurant at Grand Millennium Hotel, the interior decoration reflected Shanghai in the 1930′s with a touch of traditional elements and furniture, especially loved the armchairs with long and curved settees adorned with comfortable cushions.

Best Chilli Pan Mee at Super Kitchen @ Puchong

Super Kitchen is now open at Bandar Puteri Puchong! This is the a 2nd time revisit to Super Kitchen Chilly Pan Mee. Previously, wifey and I tried it more than a year ago, at the outlet in Kota Damansara. The first time we tried it, we had a mistake by keep putting the chili flakes when we saw the next table doing that. We did that before we took the first bite ! It was a wrong move. Now, assuring myself I’ll not do the same mistake again, I put just a spoonful of the chili, mmmm after the first bite, it was not spicy enough. Looking at how Ken and Bok put 4 spoonful of it, I brave myself to put 4 spoons too. It tasted great, but after 2 minutes, sweat started to “rain” down on my forehead.

Balinese Food @ Bumbu Bali, Puchong

I begin to love Balinese food after I tried the Ayam Penyet @ The Curve Damansara. My best friend, Vincent brought me there and since then, I have good feeling whenever I see Balinese cuisine. This time around, I visited Bumbu Bali, which I rate as one of the best Balinese food I ever tried. With big portion, flavorful, aromatic and enough spiciness. We ordered the Nasi Ayam Bertutu, which came with a half chicken! It was also served with some belacan kangkung, as with typical Balinese restaurants in Bali itself. The chicken was tender and very well marinated with hints of turmeric, garlic, onion and chillies, and then roasted to perfection. It was really flavorful and went very well with the nasi kuning (yellow rice) served along the dish.

Five Elements Moon Cake from Hotel Nikko

Mid-Autumn festival has always been something I look forward into every year, because I just simply love moon cakes. To date, many moon cakes producers have been creative and tried to be stand out from the competitive market, especially when even Haagen Dazs and Starbucks also introduced their own moon cakes.

This year, Hotel Nikko has come up with their very own creativity based on the Chinese 5 elements of Fire, Earth, Water, Metal and Wood. Each element is represented by a specific colour, as colour is the easiest way to use the five elements principle to bring harmony and suspicious overtones to any celebration.

Taragon Restaurant Serves Nyonya Food

Everyone knows Melaka is popular of the Nyonya food, also referred to as the Straits Chinese food, is an amalgamation of Chinese and Malay cuisine believed to have originated from the Peranakan (Straits Chinese) of Melaka over 400 years ago. This was the result of inter-marriages between Chinese immigrants and local Malays, which produced a unique culture. Here, the ladies are called nyonya and the men babas. Taragon Restaurant and Bistro is a relatively new restaurant located smack in the Melaka city riverside, serving authentic Nyonya and Western food while providing a magnificent view of the Melaka River.
