Have you ever craving for the best and fresh sashimi, sushi or teppanyaki? How about Peking Duck and La Mein? Alright, stop confusing yourself. Have ALL of them at Hotel Nikko 2-in-1 Buffet.
Just this afternoon, we had Dim Sum at One World Hotel, and then we’re invited by Sidney for a marvelous buffet dinner in a 5 star hotel. How can we miss that, right?
At the buffet, you may choose to sit at either Benkay Japanese restaurant or Toh Lee Chinese restaurant. According to the Manager, normally customers would prefer the Japanese seating. From wifey’s blog, she mentioned that Benkay Japanese Restaurant was named
after a historic Japanese warrior who was strong, courageous and loyal during the war period in Japan. It is also a well-known name for Japanese Restaurants in Japan offering traditional and excellent quality of authentic Japanese food, which represents Hotel Nikko’s
mission precisely. Anyway, who cares, right? We just there for the good food, spare us !
The buffet is the battle between Exe. Japanese Chef Tetsuya Yanagida Vs Head Chinese Chef Chan Chong Yan.
Below is the menu for the buffet.
Ok, let’s roll out the food picture and make your mouth watering. As usual, I always start with something light like salad or sushi/sashimi.
Above and Below: Assorted Sushi – Salmon, Squid, etc.
Below: Assorted Sashimi, only 3 pieces per plate in order to maintain the freshness. See the color and texture, so pretty !
Below is the are where I spent most of my time, the sushi and sashimi area, muahahaha !!
What’s next you asked? Of course, next target for Oysters. The oysters here are truly fresh till I saw Andrew ate at least 10 of them, I think.
He is mad of fresh Oysters, I guess. Scary man !
Below: Head of Chinese Chef is preparing chinese noodles. Such a great poser ! Must compliments a bit, else no noodles to eat later :(
Below: The variety of sauces and gravy for the noodles.
Below: One of the favourites too, lots and lots of scallops.
How could we missed our shark fin soup in Chinese menu, right?
Next is another star dish of the night, Peking Duck ! Eat it the Peking style.
This is how you eat the duck, it’s just the skin with very little meat, wrapped with sort of “egg crepe” + sort of “rojak kuah” + some veges.
Below is the Hong Kong Duck, which you may order from the menu, of course it’s unlimited orders !
Let’s move on to Teppanyaki station and more ala carte orders from the menu.
Above: Tempura Prawn and Vege, yummy crispy on the outside and juicy in the inside !
Above: Japanese garlic fried rice, also my favourite when it’s not a buffet, you know what I mean, right? ;-)
Above: Grilled Salmon Fish
Above: Grilled Cod Fish
Above: Grilled Unagi
Above: Grilled Mackerel Fish
Above: Grilled Beef, I think we ordered more than 4 plates of this. I still wonder who ordered this.
Above: Small version of Sukiyaki
Below: Unagi Donburi with Egg
The desserts, only if you still have space left in your stomach.
We skipped the desserts because of so much dishes worthy for our attention ***grin***
Above: The salad bar where nobody really care about its existence.
After filling our stomach with so much of good food, it’s much to relax and unwind, either with some soup or ice-creams.
Below: Sesame and Green Tea ice-creams, yummy to the tummy !
If you don’t fancy ice-creams, fear not. There are multiple choices of “tong sui”!
or Ginseng soup with Black chicken ?
Wifey and I ate like there is no tomorrow that night. Fully satisfied our cravings for quality Japanese and Chinese food. So, if you’re interested in the menu of the over 75 items in the buffet and a la carte orders, feel free to check out yourself at the address below.
