Ushering the Year of Rabbit at Tai Zi Heen, Prince Hotel

My next Yue Sang was at Tai Zi Heen, which also refers to the royal chamber where the Prince meet his Generals to discuss his country’s affairs over a royal meal in the Chinese history. Just look closely at the fresh salmon slices were placed on top of the Yee Sang only moments before we ‘lou sang’ while uttering auspicious phrases such as “Nian Nian You Yu”, meaning abundance every year.

What’s next after Yue Sang? Of course we all can guess it would be soup, right? Just look at the Double-boiled Pearl Shark’s fin with Bamboo Pith and Chinese Cabbage. It was served with a generous amount of shark’s fin, yum !

The next dish of Braised Dried Oysters with Fatt Choy, Baby Abalone, Sea Cucumber and Wok-Fried Greens, definitely deserves a nod by me.

Next dish was something I would highly recommend, it was the Traditional Style Steamed Cod Fish. The fish was amazingly smooth and flaky, with slight layers of fish oil in between the meat, making it an almost melt-in-your-mouth finish. Thumbs up from me !

Another of Tai Zi Heen’s specialty is the Stir-fried Prawns with Pumpkin Sauce served on Rice Nest, fried golden brown and arranged to resemble an overflowing pot of gold (the rice nest being the pot). I can’t resist and had one myself, even though I mind about my cholestrol level.

Finally, we ended our meal with Double-Boiled Hasma with Red Dates and Glutinous Rice Dumplings. It is believe that Hasma apparently improves skin complexion.

The man behind the curtain was the talented Master Chef Ricky Thein.
