Christmas Menu 2010 by Tony Roma’s

Before reading on, let me warned you that this is a meat mania post ! If you’re vegetarian, kindly exit by clicking the X button at the upper right corner.

Christmas is near !! HO HO HO…. but shame to say that I normally failed to plan a nice Christmas dinner with wifey, due to too expensive customized menu for Christmas and a lot of restaurant just don’t serve their normal menu. However, Tony Roma’s Christmas menu for this year 2010 is pretty affordable with huge portion to ensure you’ll be full.

In preparation for the array of ribs that we would be having that night, we ordered two soothing drinks created in conjunction with Christmas. The Yellow Submarine is a combination of smooth tasting ice-cream soda and tantalizing citrus of lime juice and the Cranberry-O, a clever concoction combining ice-cream soda, cranberry juice and hints of orange juice for a more familiar and welcoming taste.

As usual, before we set our fork and knife ( I meant fingers!) onto the ribs, the waiter described the various sauces to us, while making a smiley on the plate! :) There are four signature sauces from Tony Roma’s – Smokey, Red Hot, Carolina Honey and Original. Apparently, the Smokey sauce is the most popular one among all.

Then we had the Beef Short Ribs, which are actually ribs from the front part of the cow. This is the best part of the cow, I tell you. Tender juicy meat with the smoky sensation !

Whoever can’t decide on which sauce? The opt for Beef Ribs Sampler which would be the perfect order! A combination of four ribs prepared in four different flavours to excite our taste buds.

If those who already have a favorite sauce in mind, waste no time by opting for Full Slab which comes with 5 ribs cooked with your choice of sauce, accompanied with 2 side dishes. Sure to give you the “slap” on the face. I don’t know what that mean though, don’t ask me.

The ultimate serving was the Gigantic Beef 10, which comes with 10 ribs and 2 side dishes. This definitely meant for sharing. Now with RM99.90 for you and your partner on the Christmas day, I think that’s pretty ok, right? What say you?

Last time, I felt that the Tony Roma’s ribs were too soft for my liking, with texture much like boiled meat instead of grilled. But this time around, I changed my mind. The ribs are flame-grilled to perfection, with a slightly charred edge and a juicy and tender interior, now it’s suited my taste ! It is no wonder why Tony Roma’s is Famous for Ribs!
